St. Paul Lutheran Church

Outreach

St. Paul is committed to service and reaching beyond our church for opportunities to serve. We have opportunities for missions through our giving as well as hands on mission efforts.

Arm of Mission Committee

Beyond our Doors

Beyond our Doors is excited to reveal a new fundraiser for our congregation. We wish to
continue our support for non profits both local and global and are hoping this type of fundraiser
will be successful and fun!

Many will see a colorful board in the overflow area which is covered with envelopes each
marked with a denomination ranging from $5 to $30. All that is asked is that if possible choose
an envelope, place either cash or check inside and then drop in the box. This board is going to
be up for several weeks and we hope eventually it will be bare! If that happens we will have
collected over $500 and as a little extra fun there is a message to our congregation visible
once all envelopes are gone.

These funds will be distributed to the organizations below
• Aurora Project for homeless women and children
• Mission Honduras supporting clean water in remote mountain villages
• Lutheran Disaster Relief

• Local Food Insecurity

We are a small but generous community and we can change lives with our prayers and our
financial support to those God has called us to love.

St. Paul Lutheran’s

Lutheran World Relief

Join our group of dedicated women who meet every Wednesday morning to create quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Our gatherings are not just about sewing; they are about fellowship, service, and sharing the love of Christ through our work. On the first Wednesday of each month, we enrich our spirits further with a Bible study session, fostering deeper connections and spiritual growth.

No sewing skills or experience are required to be part of this meaningful activity—everyone is welcome.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Gloria Castillo. We look forward to welcoming you into our circle of friendship and service.

St. Paul is also the gathering location for area churches to bring quilts, layettes, and school bags once a year (first Saturday in October) to be sent to Lutheran World Relief and dispersed throughout the globe.

Local Food Pantry Support

St. Paul actively collects money for local food pantries and local school districts. We no longer accept food donations but encourage all our members to give for food insecurity in our communities. Beyond our Doors, the arm of our Mission outreach will distribute food pantry monies as they accumulate.

Lifewise

We have raised funds to support Life Wise Academy for both Elmwood and Eastwood School Districts which is a program that brings the Word of God to primary school children during the school day.

Mission Honduras

We have supported and continue to support Mission Honduras which provides clean water to rural mountainous regions of Honduras.

The Aurora Project

We support Aurora Project which is an agency that offers comprehensive housing and life skills program that empowers homeless women and their children throughout Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio.

Lutheran Disaster Response

We respond to regional and global disasters by supporting Lutheran Disaster Response.

Scholarship Program

Several members of St. Paul support Liberian students thru God’s Precious Children Scholarship program.

St. Paul Lutheran’s

Prayer Chain

The Prayer Chain at St. Paul Lutheran Church is a vital ministry dedicated to supporting our community through the power of prayer. Whenever a member or friend of the church is in need—whether facing illness, hardship, or simply seeking divine guidance—the prayer chain is activated. Comprising a group of committed volunteers, the prayer chain ensures that requests are promptly and faithfully lifted up in prayer. This ministry not only provides spiritual support but also strengthens the bonds within our congregation, reminding us all of the power of collective faith and the comfort of knowing that we are never alone in our struggles.
